What side of the U.S. Involvement of Vietnam am I on?

The U.S. involvement of Vietnam was unnecessary because we really didn't accomplish anything. This war was brutal to the United States Soldiers and Civilians. It made the civilians question what their government was really about. The civilians didn't really agree with the war because they felt the troops were doing more bad then good. They hear stories of mass killing of Vietnamese civilians by United States Soldiers. They also hear that the soldiers were raping women and then beheading them after. The Vietnam war was a horrible war not because we lost men and the war but because of what the soldiers did to the civilians. We were not and have not been  the only county to do these things but we horrible things but we did it on a mass scale. This was just normal life in Vietnam You burnt villages to the ground, you beheaded people, you did what ever you really pleased. I'm not saying the Vietnam war was the worst thing to ever happen. It was one of those things that could of been good if every one respected every one. The war gave us many good things like the ability to vote at 18 it also replaced the draft with a voluntary only military. It also made the Wars Powers Act which states the President can only make us go to war if congress approves this could be a good or a bad thing because that my take a long time for congress to approve which in turn means we could be in serious trouble. The Vietnam war was bad too it hurt our economy badly it also put 58000 lives to their graves and another 350000 casualties 2 million Vietnamese were killed. It Weakened our military in a time when we need the strongest in the world aka the Cold War. It not only reduced the size but the moral of our armed forces. So even thought the Vietnam war gave us some important things we cherish today it did us more bad then good. The Vietnam war was so unnecessary it caused this great nation of ours great pain that would keep hold of us still today. We should of never of gone to Vietnam but we did anyways and lost both the war and thousands of lives.
